The government will merge fifteen state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the logistics sector. The merger of these dozen SOEs into one entity is targeted for completion within the next month.

The Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency, Dony Oskaria, stated that this consolidation process is part of a business transformation expected to strengthen the competitiveness of SOEs. He hopes that this transformation will make the benefits of SOE logistics more tangible to the public. “The process has already begun. Insyaallah, it will be completed within this month, and we will announce that 15 companies will become one national logistics company,” said Dony at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.

The SOE Regulatory Agency stated that PT Pos Indonesia is targeted to become the anchor company in the consolidation of these 15 logistics companies. That company will subsequently oversee SOE subsidiaries in the logistics ecosystem, including PT Semen Indonesia Logistik, PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistik, and PT KAI Logistik.

According to Dony, this consolidation process is part of the SOE restructuring targeted for completion this year. The consolidation is expected to optimise SOE business capacity and create more effective and efficient business processes. “Insyaallah, the faster the SOE transformation process, the more its benefits will be felt by the public,” he added.

President Prabowo Subianto previously emphasised the importance of rationalising the number of SOEs through restructuring. According to the Chairman of the Gerindra Party, this step will not only increase efficiency but also strengthen the global competitiveness of SOEs.

Prabowo claimed that the effectiveness of this restructuring has been proven when the government established the Danantara Investment Management Agency in February last year. Prabowo claimed that Danantara successfully recorded a return on assets (ROA) of 300 per cent in its first year.

“So, our premise turned out to be correct. Consolidation with one rational management, with the world’s best standards, the return on assets I received is above 300 per cent,” said Prabowo in his speech at the one-year anniversary of Danantara on 11 March 2026.
