Government encourages establishment of creative economy agencies in regions
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is encouraging the establishment of creative economy agencies in regions to strengthen the industrial ecosystem and expand mentoring access for creative business actors.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that several regions are currently processing the addition of creative economy functions to their organisational structures.
“If previously only a few provinces, today there are additions of around 22 provinces in process. For regencies and cities, there are also additions of around 70, so the total will become around 80,” said the Creative Economy Minister after meeting creative economy worker Amsal Sitepu in Jakarta on Thursday.
He explained that the establishment of these agencies does not have to stand alone but can be combined with other sectors such as tourism, culture, or micro, small, and medium enterprises.
“It doesn’t have to be standalone, it can be combined, but at least there is a creative economy title in that agency,” he said.
According to him, the presence of creative economy agencies in regions is important to ensure that business actors have access to various services, from training to mentoring.
“The hope is that there will be more foster parents in the regions that nurture creative economy enthusiasts, both in access to funding, markets, and legal protection,” he said.
He added that the central government has coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs to accelerate the formation of such structures in the regions.
This effort is also driven by the increasingly developing creative economy industry in various regions, which is seen as contributing to job creation and increased regional income.
“Many regional heads have already felt the impact, both on employment, poverty reduction, and regional income,” he said.
Meanwhile, videographer Amsal Sitepu assessed that the presence of creative economy agencies in regions is important to facilitate access to information for business actors.
“Because we in the regions have limited access to information, so there needs to be acceleration so that creative economy actors in the regions can also be reached,” he said.
