The government drew new debt amounting to Rp185.3 trillion in February 2026, equivalent to 22.3 per cent of the debt drawdown target under the 2026 State Budget (APBN), which has been set at Rp832.2 trillion.

“Budget financing for 2026 is being maintained well within controlled limits. The realisation by end of February has reached Rp185.3 trillion, or 22.3 per cent of target,” said Deputy Finance Minister Juda Agung at the APBN KiTa press conference for March 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The debt drawdown has been reduced by non-debt financing of Rp21.1 trillion.

Overall, the realisation of budget financing through February 2026 totalled Rp164.2 trillion, equivalent to 23.8 per cent of the 2026 APBN target of Rp689.1 trillion.

Juda assured that 2026 APBN financing is being managed prudently and in measured fashion, taking into account government liquidity and financial market dynamics.

Debt financing fulfilment is assessed to remain on track through anticipatory measures and active cash and debt management to ensure adequate government cash availability.

“Financing strategy is conducted in an anticipatory manner to ensure cash availability remains sufficient, whilst maintaining financing flexibility to respond to ongoing market dynamics,” he said.

The 2026 APBN recorded a deficit of 0.53 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), or valued at Rp135.7 trillion by end of February. The 2026 APBN is projected to experience a deficit of Rp698.15 trillion, equivalent to 2.68 per cent of GDP.
