Government Denies Rise in Subsidised Fuel Prices for Solar-Pertalite from 1 April
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has dismissed claims of an increase in the price of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) after the end of this March. This comes in response to rumours circulating in society regarding a fuel price hike as a result of geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East.
Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaeman, emphasised that after March 2026, there will be no increase in the price of subsidised BBM, whether Pertalite (RON 90) or Subsidised Solar.
“False information. (After March 2026) there is no increase in subsidised BBM,” Laode stressed to CNBC Indonesia when contacted on Monday (30/3/2026).
As is known, rumours circulating in society, both through social media and communication networks such as WhatsApp, include projections of fuel prices that will apply after March 2026 ends.
In the narratives circulating in society, the price of subsidised BBM such as Pertalite is projected to be priced at Rp 14,000 per litre from the current Rp 10,000 per litre. For the Subsidised Solar type, the price is projected to reach Rp 9,500 per litre from the current Rp 6,800 per litre.
Meanwhile, for the Pertamax fuel type, it is projected to rise to Rp 16,500 per litre from the current Rp 12,300 per litre.
Thus, Laode assured that the price of subsidised BBM will not undergo any changes in April 2026.
“(The price) remains the same,” he asserted.
