Government Collects Rp2.08 Trillion in Digital Sector Taxes by February
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has collected taxes amounting to Rp2.08 trillion from the digital economy business sector as of 28 February 2026. The collections come from value-added tax (VAT) on Electronic System-Based Trading (PMSE) amounting to Rp1.74 trillion, cryptocurrency taxes of Rp84.7 billion, financial technology (tekfin) or peer-to-peer lending (P2P) taxes of Rp233.12 billion, and Government Procurement Information System (SIPP) taxes of Rp18.1 billion. Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations of the DJP, Inge Diana Rismawanti, in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, said that the realisation of tax revenues from the digital business sector reflects the increasing contribution of the digital economy to state revenues. For PMSE VAT, the total collections since 2020 until January 2026 have reached Rp37.40 trillion, submitted by 223 PMSEs from 260 designated companies. Throughout February 2026, there were no new designations, revocations, or changes in data for PMSE VAT collectors. Thus, the number and data of PMSE VAT collectors in February 2026 remain unchanged compared to the conditions in January 2026. “Although in February 2026 there were no new designations, revocations, or changes in data for PMSE VAT collectors, the performance of revenues from the digital economy sector still shows a positive trend,” said Inge. For cryptocurrency taxes, the total collections have reached Rp1.96 trillion throughout 2022 until January 2026.
