Jakarta – The Directorate General for Vocational Education, Special Education, and Special Services Education (DG Vocational Education PKPLK) of the Ministry of Education and Culture signed cooperation agreements with industry partners in support of efforts to improve the quality of vocational education graduates.

Deputy Minister of Education and Culture Atip Latipulhayat expressed appreciation and gratitude to all industry partners, ministries, government agencies, and universities for their commitment and confidence during a ceremony in Jakarta on Monday.

Four industry partners signed the cooperation agreements, including PT Gamecomm Indonesia Network, a local game development company. Atip noted that the company seeks to identify vocational education graduates with superior skills in the gaming industry.

PT Gamecomm Indonesia Network Director Sere Kalina said the company currently collaborates with five vocational schools through its teaching factory programme. “We want to ensure that Indonesia’s gaming industry can develop and compete globally,” Sere stated.

PT United Tractors also demonstrated its continued commitment to advancing vocational education in Indonesia. The company previously implemented a development programme for vocational school students but will focus this year on graduate certification.

“We are currently mapping class twelve students for certification so that when they apply for jobs, they have additional value to offer the industry,” said Himawan Sutanto, Department Head of Social Responsibility and Communication at PT United Tractors.

Sutanto noted that the certification approach opens greater opportunities for employment abroad, given that the heavy equipment and engineering industries are needed in many countries. He emphasised that educational institutions must recognise the potential for industry collaboration and that joint efforts between both parties will ensure successful implementation of the cooperation agreements.
