Jakarta — Technology company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) has partnered with the Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) to facilitate free travel home for thousands of Gojek driver partners and their families. The initiative aligns with the Ministry’s strategic efforts to mobilise passenger flows in a more organised manner.

The free travel home departures were divided into two waves. The first wave departed from Pulogebang Integrated Terminal in East Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026, with approximately 1,000 driver partners and family members as participants. The second wave departed on Monday, 16 March 2026, in the morning with approximately 3,000 Gojek driver partners and family members departing from the same point towards their hometowns.

In the free travel programme named GoMudik, partners and their families could return to five destination cities: Kuningan, Semarang, Surabaya, Lampung, and Palembang.

“High demand for travel tickets for the homecoming journey sometimes presents a particular challenge for our partners. Therefore, we are grateful to be able to work with the Ministry of Transport in presenting a free travel programme for our driver partners. Through GoMudik, we want to support our driver partners so they can reunite with their families in a calm, safe, and comfortable manner,” said GoTo Chief Executive Officer Hans Patuwo at Pulogebang Terminal in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026 in the afternoon.

Beyond facilitating partners to travel home for free, GoTo also distributed GoFood vouchers to driver partners participating in the GoMudik programme to explore local cuisine in their destination cities, whilst simultaneously promoting the growth of local culinary micro and small enterprises.

Present at the GoMudik send-off event, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus H. Yudhoyono commended GoTo’s step in supporting driver partners to reunite with their families.

“Driver partners, once again, are extraordinary fighters. Extraordinary. We are all indebted to them, it could be said, because without motorcycle taxi services, we would all surely find our daily lives difficult. Hopefully, this homecoming journey will also provide everyone with smooth travel, safety, and beloved families waiting for us in our hometowns,” said Coordinating Minister Agus at the same occasion.

This initiative also represents GoTo’s effort to support the Ministry of Transport in mobilising incoming and outgoing travel flows in a more organised manner. It is hoped that with thousands of driver partners and family members undertaking free travel using bus fleets, traffic congestion can be minimised.

“Through proper management of departure and arrival points with good data recording, GoMudik also helps reduce congestion from independent travel and supports a well-managed mobility system,” said Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi in his official statement.

GoTo has launched the free travel programme GoMudik, which complements various GoTo initiatives in supporting the welfare of partners. In addition to distributing Hari Raya Bonuses (BHR) recently, GoTo has also provided social protection through access to free Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) and Employment Insurance (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) since December 2025, development initiatives such as the Gojek Partner Job Exchange, scholarship programmes for partners and their families, and the Self-Reliant Partner Business Programme to open opportunities for capacity building and additional income for the partners.
