Gorontalo (ANTARA) - The Quality Agency Office of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) in Gorontalo is making it increasingly easier for businesses to export and ensure that products shipped are accepted by authorities in destination countries.

"We are doing this through the Siap Mutu website, or the Quality Service Information System and Application," said Abdul Kadir, Head of the KKP Quality Agency Office in Gorontalo, on Monday.

He explained that the Siap Mutu application has been very helpful for fishery entrepreneurs in Gorontalo Province in distributing their products to international markets, particularly for export.

"In Gorontalo, there are four fish processing units actively exporting to Japan and Singapore," Kadir said.

He explained that the Siap Mutu application serves as the first point of service for users, enabling fish exporters to trade their products overseas. Siap Mutu is accessible nationally and is already integrated with OSS and INSW (Indonesia National Single Window).

"Because it is already an online website, users can access it from anywhere, as long as they have internet connectivity," he said.

According to Abdul Kadir, the Siap Mutu application has received a very positive response from businesses and has made it easier for them to carry out export activities.

He added that the Siap Mutu application also serves as a tool supporting the acceptability of fishery products in destination countries, as competent overseas authorities can now receive the Fishery Product Quality and Safety Certificate (SMKHP) electronically via a QR code system.

The SMKHP is currently a requirement for quality assurance and food safety compliance in 140 countries that are destinations for Indonesian fishery exports.

With Siap Mutu, international connectivity has become faster, more robust, effective and efficient, minimising dwelling time — the period required from when goods are unloaded from a vessel until they leave the port.

"This strengthens the competitiveness of Indonesian fishery products in the global market," he concluded.

Nationally, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries recently launched the integrated nation-wide application platform to facilitate export activities for businesses and ensure acceptability by competent authorities in destination countries. The Siap Mutu application operates under the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Marine and Fishery Products (Badan Mutu KKP).
