Jakarta — The Golkar Young Officers Central Board (PP AMPG) has endorsed the views of Golkar General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia regarding the US-Israel attack on Iran, stating it violates international law.

PP AMPG General Chairman Said Aldi Al Idrus explained that Bahlil’s position emphasises that every nation possesses sovereignty that must be respected. “Whatever the justification, the armed force approach that claims lives and destroys civilian infrastructure represents a regression of civilisation. The world should move towards dialogue, not military domination,” Said stated in a press release in Jakarta on Monday.

He further noted that the US-Israel attack caused extensive damage to several strategic areas in Iran and resulted in thousands of civilians being displaced. “When bombs are dropped, civilians suffer most. Children, women, and elderly people who know nothing of geopolitics become victims. This is a humanitarian tragedy,” he said.

Consequently, he condemned the US-Israel action and urged the international community to reject violence as a solution to disputes. “We must push the world back towards understanding that true strength lies not in missiles and bombs, but in the capacity to build peace. If violence continues to be used as a solution, then the world is moving backwards,” he stated.

Israel launched an attack on Iran on 28 February 2026. US President Donald Trump subsequently announced that the American military had commenced large-scale combat operations in Iran. One strike, involving seven missiles, targeted Tehran near the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran subsequently launched a rocket attack against Israel and several other targets in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry stated that President Prabowo Subianto was prepared to travel to Iran to facilitate dialogue aimed at restoring conducive security conditions. On 1 March 2026, Iran’s government confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei in the attack and announced a 40-day mourning period with a week of public holidays.
