Golkar West Java Marks 62nd Anniversary with Renewed Commitment to Service and Regeneration
Golkar’s West Java branch used its 62nd anniversary as an opportunity to strengthen its service to the public and encourage the regeneration of its cadres. The party said the modest celebrations this year should not diminish its commitment to pursuing public welfare.
The message emerged during a pilgrimage, flower-laying ceremony and joint prayer at Cikutra Heroes’ Cemetery in Bandung on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. The event honoured the service of national heroes and gave party members an opportunity to reflect on how to carry their spirit forward through practical work.
Ahmad Hidayat, secretary of the West Java Golkar Regional Leadership Council, said the anniversary was being marked simply out of concern for the economic circumstances of the public.
He said the modesty of the occasion should remind party members to increase their contributions, particularly those serving in the legislative and executive branches.
“All Golkar cadres, whether serving in the legislature or the executive, must do their best to improve the public’s economic circumstances,” he said.
Ahmad explained that the pilgrimage to Cikutra Heroes’ Cemetery was an annual event to remember the heroes, including figures who had contributed to the history of the Golkar Party.
He said he hoped the 62nd anniversary would strengthen the spirit of service and create more opportunities for young people to contribute to building the party.
Meanwhile, Ariansyah Eka Saputra, head of the West Java regional board of the Golkar Party Youth Front (AMPG), said cadre regeneration was an important challenge in ensuring the organisation’s continuity.
He said internal consolidation needed to go hand in hand with cadre development so the party could adapt to changing times and prepare future leaders.
“We hope the Golkar Party will always provide young people with opportunities to contribute,” Ariansyah said.
He added that consolidation was the organisation’s foundation, while cadre development was vital to preserving the party’s existence.
“For us, consolidation is the key, but cadre development is the challenge in keeping an organisation or party alive,” he said.
The pilgrimage was attended by officials from the West Java Golkar Regional Leadership Council, members of the Golkar Party faction in the West Java Regional House of Representatives, founding organisations Kosgoro, Soksi and MKGR, as well as organisations established by the party and its affiliated wings.
