Golf at the Games?

Golf at the Games?

From Neraca

Indonesia failed to win first place at the 18th SEA Games held
recently in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We need not feel downhearted
but we should admit that our athletes did not do well in
athletics, swimming and football. These failures should serve as
an impetus for KONI (Indonesian National Sports Committee) and
other sports organizations to analyze the system of sports
development in this country.

Training must be done as early as possible to achieve the best
results. Unfortunately, the country lacks the sports facilities
needed to achieve the desired goals. It is sad, for example, that
in some provinces there are fewer soccer fields than golf
courses. There is only one football field in Tangerang, West
Java, but there are four golf courses.

In Jakarta, there are only two sports stadiums of
international standard but there are nearly ten golf courses.
Clearly, we need to build more sports facilities if we're going
to create better athletes.
