Jakarta – Travel agency Golden Rama has revealed that international travel trends have recovered since last year, and consumer behaviour now shows a tendency to book trips earlier to avoid price increases for tickets and accommodation.

“Over the past two years, we have observed increasingly strategic changes in consumer behaviour in planning travel. They tend to book earlier to avoid price increases for tickets and accommodation,” said Ricky Hilton, General Manager of Communications and CRM at Golden Rama Tours and Travel, in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He added that during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 period, Golden Rama recorded increased demand for international travel packages to South Korea, Japan, China, and Europe of approximately 20 per cent year-on-year compared to the same period in the previous year.

“This trend is reinforced by consumer behaviour that increasingly plans travel earlier and is selective about the experiences they seek,” he said.

Based on Golden Rama data from the Extra 2025 event, there has been an increase in group tour package bookings to various international destinations for the Eid al-Fitr season of approximately 15.7 per cent year-on-year compared to the same period last year, indicating that market interest is increasing significantly from year to year.

In addition to destination factors, changing behaviour among Indonesian travellers has also contributed to the increase, with more early bookings before Eid al-Fitr as consumers seek to secure prices and schedules before peak season.

Travellers now seek more personal and authentic experiences rather than simply mainstream destinations. The schemes and payment flexibility offered by operators such as Golden Rama have also increased market interest.
