The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues unabated, prompting an increasingly widespread global response. Various cross-border initiatives are emerging to ensure the distribution of aid while keeping this issue in the public eye.

One such initiative is the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 mission, which involves various international civil elements, including DT Peduli. This mission combines the delivery of aid with efforts to open humanitarian access for Gaza residents still facing restrictions due to the blockade.

Executive Director of DT Peduli, Jajang Nurjaman, stated that involvement in this mission represents a collective cross-country endeavour. “The current situation in Palestine remains under a prolonged blockade. Through global movements like this, we want to take part in humanitarian efforts, both via sea and land routes,” said Jajang in his statement on Monday (27/4/2026).

Aid distribution in this mission is carried out through two routes: a sea fleet carrying international volunteers and a land route for logistics delivery. The aid includes medical needs, food, and emergency equipment tailored to the conditions on the ground.

Indonesia’s involvement is evident through the dispatch of volunteers from various backgrounds, ranging from medical personnel, media teams, to field coordinators. Chairman of the DT Peduli Foundation, M. Bascharul Asana, said that this participation carries significant responsibility. “This is not merely a journey, but a trust. We urge the volunteers to always maintain their intentions and uphold Indonesia’s good name in every role they undertake,” said Bascharul.

In addition to aid distribution, this mission also highlights the importance of sustaining public attention on the humanitarian issue in Palestine. Director of Impact and Civilisation at DT Peduli, Fahrizal Amir, stated that every contribution still holds meaning in the collective movement. “Palestine is a trust for us all. No matter how small the effort—whether sharing information, donating, or direct involvement—it still matters,” said Fahrizal.

He added that public support is a crucial factor in maintaining the sustainability of the humanitarian movement. “Let us continue to voice Palestine. Do not let this narrative fade,” said Fahrizal.

The volunteers involved also view this mission as an effort to preserve hope amid limitations. Muhammad Ihsan, one of the volunteers, said the experience is not just about aid distribution. “Every step is not only about sending aid, but also about preserving hope and ensuring that solidarity truly reaches its destination,” he stated.

Through this mission, cross-country collaboration reaffirms that global solidarity remains a vital force in responding to prolonged humanitarian crises.
