PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) has recorded impressive achievements over the past year. Under the steady leadership of BRI’s President Director, Hery Gunardi, BRI has successfully navigated a crucial phase in its transformation journey.

It is no surprise that after 130 years of operation, BRI has grown stronger, developing alongside society and consistently contributing to the national economy.

Now, under Hery Gunardi’s leadership, BRI continues to implement a series of strategic steps that serve as important markers for the bank’s future transformation direction. The achievements and actions of Hery Gunardi in strengthening BRI’s business over the past year are as follows:

  1. New Leadership Era: Hery Gunardi Officially Leads BRI

BRI entered a new leadership phase, marking the starting point for accelerating the company’s transformation at the beginning of 2025. In this regard, Hery Gunardi was officially appointed as BRI’s President Director through the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on 24 March 2025.

With a track record of more than 34 years in the national banking industry, Hery is known as a multidimensional banker directly involved in various strategic agendas. From the establishment of Bank Mandiri (1998-1999) to becoming a key decision-maker at that state-owned bank.

Not only that, Hery also contributed to the birth of PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services (AMFS), a joint venture insurance company between Bank Mandiri and France’s AXA Group. Then, March 2020 became an important milestone as Hery took on the responsibility of overseeing the merger of three state-owned sharia banks (BRISyariah, Bank Syariah Mandiri, and BNI Syariah) into PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI).

Ultimately, Hery Gunardi’s appointment signifies BRI’s commitment to continuing the transformation in a measured, sustainable manner, while remaining rooted in its DNA of serving the people.

  1. BRIVolution Reignite as BRI’s Transformation Direction

Next, together with Hery Gunardi, BRI has established BRIVolution Reignite, aimed at strengthening business foundations, improving efficiency, and ensuring BRI remains relevant and competitive amid changes in the economic and technological landscape.

BRIVolution Reignite emphasises BRI’s focus on reinforcing funding structures, accelerating digitalisation, enhancing productivity, and developing core and new sustainable businesses. All these agendas are executed with a customer-centric orientation, while strengthening BRI’s role as a bank serving all segments.

  1. Strengthening the “One Bank for All” Position Through Corporate Rebranding Launch

As a continuation of the transformation agenda, BRI launched its Corporate Rebranding on Tuesday (16 December 2025), coinciding with its 130th anniversary.

Through this corporate rebranding initiative, BRI presents a more modern, universal, inclusive, and relevant identity for all Indonesian society, without abandoning the core values that have been the company’s foundation, namely its DNA of serving the people, empowering SMEs, and BRI’s strategic role as an agent of development.

Hery Gunardi stated that BRI must continue to transform to remain relevant to the times. “Our brand idea is to support every ambition of customers across Indonesia, and our brand personality is trusted yet progressive, ambitious yet respectful, aspirational yet practical, universal yet personal, and finally world-class yet very Indonesian,” he said.

  1. BRI Records Positive Financial Performance Throughout 2025

BRI successfully recorded a net profit for the year of Rp57.13 trillion throughout 2025, supported by interest income of Rp207.78 trillion, or an increase of 4.27% year-on-year.

In its intermediation function, BRI’s consolidated credit reached Rp1,521.49 trillion, or an increase of 12.31% year-on-year at the end of 2025. Meanwhile, BRI’s total assets were recorded at Rp2,135.37 trillion.

Third-party funds were recorded at Rp1,466.84 trillion at the end of 2025, with a CASA composition of 70.61%.

  1. BRI Receives a Plethora of Awards on National to International Stages

Over the past year, BRI has strengthened its reputation at domestic, regional, and international levels, earning 163 recognitions from various institutions. One of the main achievements is reflected in the Forbes Global 2000 - The World’s Largest Companies 2025, where BRI ranked 349th out of 2,000 of the world’s largest public companies, while also being the highest-ranked Indonesian public company in the list.

At the regional level, BRI’s position has also strengthened through the Fortune Southeast Asia 500, ranking first among all banks and financial institutions from Indonesia, and fourth in the Southeast Asia financial category based on revenue. This strengthening was further affirmed by BRI being named Bank of the Year 2025 in Indonesia by The Banker.

Entering 2026, BRI secured three Best Performing Primary Dealer awards for 2025 from the Indonesian Ministry of Finance. This recognition demonstrates BRI’s consistency in participating in efforts to deepen the domestic financial market while supporting sustainable APBN financing.

In that event, BRI won the titles of Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities 2025, Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities in the Primary Market 2025, and Best Performing Primary Dealer for Government Securities in the Secondary Market 2025.

Furthermore, BRI reaffirmed its position on the global stage by entering the “Global 500 2026” list by Brand Finance, a leading global brand valuation consultancy based in London. This achievement places BRI as one of the world’s most valuable brands and number one in Indonesia in that ranking.
