Gianyar Regency Government Maps Regional Assets to Support Expansion of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units
Gianyar, Bali — Gianyar Regency Government in Bali is systematically mapping regional assets with potential for supporting the expansion of Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) or Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units.
“We are continuing coordination with implementing partners starting from Forkopimda, the Regional Military Command which has been very helpful, particularly regarding assets we hold at the regional government,” said I Ketut Pasek Lanang Sadia, General Administration Assistant of the Gianyar Regency Secretariat, during a visit by the Ministry of Population and Family Development reviewing the supplementary nutrition programme for pregnant women in Batubulan, Gianyar, on Monday.
According to Pasek, who also serves on Gianyar’s SPPG Task Force, 17 SPPG kitchens have been established in Gianyar, representing approximately 30 per cent of targets.
Beyond mapping regional assets, the regency is also considering accessibility that facilitates distribution and engages SPPG partners meeting all requirements, including the capacity to construct facilities for producing supplementary nutrition products.
“The supplementary nutrition programme is not only for students, but also for groups of pregnant women, nursing mothers and toddlers,” he explained.
The regency continues coordinating with other districts and cities across Bali to accelerate SPPG expansion.
“We continue to coordinate with local governments and local task forces to accelerate SPPG development. The challenges are location and access, which we are coordinating with other districts and cities,” he said.
Bali’s National Nutrition Agency is targeting 507,000 beneficiaries under the supplementary nutrition programme by 2026, including students and groups of pregnant women, nursing mothers and toddlers. The agency aims to establish 180 SPPG units distributed across Bali to serve beneficiaries by 2026.
