Gianyar Regency Government held an iftar gathering at Taman Maheswara, the rear yard of the Gianyar Regent’s Office, on Wednesday (4 March). The event served to strengthen bonds and reaffirm solidarity across elements within Gianyar Regency.

In his address, Gianyar Deputy Regent Anak Agung Gde Mayun said the holy month of Ramadan is a special time for Muslims, full of blessings and forgiveness, and also teaches patience, sincerity, and care for others.

“The Iftar and Ramadan Safari events carry a very important meaning. Beyond being moments for worship and gratitude, they also serve as spaces to deepen relationships, strengthen solidarity, and nurture a sense of togetherness as we build Gianyar Regency that we love,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (5 March 2026).

Mayun stressed the importance of safeguarding diversity so that harmony and inter-religious tolerance remain preserved. He noted that this stems from a shared commitment by all elements of society to respect and value differences.

“I believe the greatest strength of Gianyar Regency lies in its unity and people’s mutual cooperation. When we can maintain togetherness, support one another, and collaborate, we can face development challenges more effectively,” he asserted.

Mayun also conveyed that the Gianyar Regency government continues to strive towards a society that is safe, progressive, inclusive, competitive, cultured, and sustainable.

“To all Muslims in Gianyar Regency, I wish you a blessed fasting period. May the worship we undertake be smooth, healthy, and blessed, and may we all be reunited again on the day of victory in a state of happiness,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Provincial Office of Religious Affairs, I Gusti Made Sunartha, described Ramadan as a moment for introspection and self-control. He added that its timing near the Lunar New Year (Imlek) and Nyepi reflects diversity and harmony among Indonesia’s religious communities.

During the event, the committee also distributed staple foods to Muslims in need as an expression of care and social support during the holy month of Ramadan.

The gathering was attended by Deputy Regent Gianyar Anak Agung Gde Mayun, officials from the Bali Kemenag and several districts, Gianyar’s Forkopimda, Gianyar District Court, Danyon Zipur 18 YKR, FKUB, MUI, the Indonesian Council of Mosques, Baznas, members of the Regional House of Representatives, heads of OPD and representatives of Muslims in Gianyar Regency.
