Operation Ketupat Agung in Gianyar will commence on 13 March and conclude on 25 March 2026. The Gianyar Police Department is ensuring security and peace of mind during Nyepi and Idul Fitri 2026.

To prepare for the security of religious celebrations and mass travel, the Gianyar Police Department held a cross-sectoral coordination meeting for Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 on Monday (9 March 2026) at Rupatama Catur Prasetya, the Gianyar Police Headquarters.

The activity was led directly by Gianyar Police Chief AKBP Chandra C. Kesuma and was attended by internal ranks of the Gianyar Police Department as well as representatives from the Regional Leadership Forum (Forkopimda), local government agencies, religious leaders, community figures, and civic organisations in Gianyar Regency.

In his remarks, the Gianyar Police Chief explained that this cross-sectoral coordination meeting was a follow-up to coordination meetings at the central and provincial levels to ensure all parties were prepared to maintain public security and order during the period when religious holidays coincide.

“This coordination meeting is an initial step to align perceptions and strengthen inter-agency synergy in maintaining the security and order situation and traffic flow during Ramadan, Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah, and the series of Nyepi celebrations in the Saka 1948 year,” said AKBP Chandra C. Kesuma.

He stated that the police would implement Operation Ketupat Agung 2026, which would be conducted from 13 to 25 March 2026 in the Gianyar Police District jurisdiction. This operation aims to provide a sense of security to the public while anticipating various potential security and order disturbances.

“This operation is implemented to reduce the potential for crime, violations, and traffic accidents, whilst ensuring that the outbound and return traffic of the public can proceed safely and smoothly,” he explained.

Chandra also stressed that the success of the operation depends not solely on the National Police, but also on support from the Armed Forces, local government, relevant agencies, health workers, and the public.

“The success of Operation Ketupat Agung heavily depends on the solidarity and synergy of all elements, including the Armed Forces, National Police, local government, relevant agencies, as well as religious and community leaders. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the public will experience safe, comfortable, and humane services,” he added.

During the operation, the police will also prepare a number of service posts and security posts to support services to the public. Additionally, the public can utilise the emergency complaint service through the police hotline 110.

“We are also preparing service posts, security posts, as well as hotline 110 services that can be utilised by the public should they require assistance during the operation,” Chandra stated.
