Get Ready! DKI Jakarta's Free Mudik 2026 to the Thousand Islands Opens on 9 March, with Limited Quotas
Get Ready! The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has again launched the Free Mudik programme for residents who wish to celebrate Eid in the Thousand Islands. The free sea-transport scheme aims to provide comfort and safety for Jakarta’s homebound residents.
Syafrin Liputo, head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dinas Perhubungan DKI Jakarta), said registration would open on Monday, 9 March 2026, with the window lasting just four days.
‘The DKI Provincial Government is again offering free sea transport for residents who wish to return to the Thousand Islands. Registration will open on 9 March,’ he said in a briefing on Thursday (5/3).
Registration for the Free Mudik Pemprov DKI 2026 will be conducted online via a Google Form. The official registration link will be shared via the Dinas Perhubungan DKI Jakarta’s official social media accounts on the day of opening.

Syafrin reminded prospective mudik participants to promptly confirm upon receiving the verification message. ‘Participants must confirm via WhatsApp when the verification message arrives,’ he emphasised.
All mudik programme participants will depart from Muara Angke Port, North Jakarta. This year, there are ten destination islands on the service list, namely:
Note that the mudik free sea transport programme only serves one-way travel, i.e., departures from Jakarta to the destination islands.
‘The free sea mudik programme only serves departures from Muara Angke Port and does not provide return trips from the Thousand Islands,’ clarified Syafrin Liputo.
Make sure you have valid population data when filling the Google Form to speed up verification by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency team.
Providing electricity supply is a tangible expression of the government’s commitment to meeting basic needs for residents in Jakarta’s outer areas.

The use of stickers on the hulls of vessels is intended to allow fishermen to access police assistance quickly in emergencies at sea.
This synergy is considered crucial to maintaining public safety and order (kamtibmas), especially in waters that are vital routes.
Intense coordination is being conducted with the Office of the Kesyahbandaran and Port Authority (KSOP) to monitor wave conditions.
