Generating Rp 175 Million in Revenue per Month, a UNM Student Has Been Running a Business Since University
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A student from Nusa Mandiri University (UNM), known as the Digital Business Campus, has proven that university life is not a barrier to entrepreneurial success. He is Hilal Anam Mustofa, a 7th-semester student in the Information Systems program at UNM, who has successfully run a business selling used smartphones, generating a revenue of Rp 150 million to Rp 175 million per month through his store, Grafix Store.
Amidst his busy schedule of lectures, assignments, and exams, Hilal remains able to manage his business professionally. He applies disciplined time management by prioritizing his studies, while business operations are carried out outside of academic hours using a scheduled system.
“I started with one smartphone. The key is to be brave enough to start and be consistent. This business is not just about profit, but about building customer trust,” said Hilal in a press release in Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
Grafix Store was established in 2022, starting from a hobby and financial limitations that encouraged Hilal to think creatively. Together with his older brother, he bought one used smartphone to resell. From a small scale, the business now sells more than 1,000 smartphones through various digital platforms such as Tokopedia, Shopee, Carousell, and Facebook Marketplace.
With a profit margin of around 5 percent per unit, Grafix Store is able to generate an average net profit of Rp 6-7 million per month. Strict quality control and transparent product condition are key to building a reputation in the second-hand device market.
He also targets sales of more than 2,000 units per year, strengthening digital branding, and opening an offline store to increase the credibility of his business.
“My business is also greatly supported on campus. As a UNM student, I learn entrepreneurship in class and receive guidance from the Nusa Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (NEC). This has helped me a lot in structuring my business model and managing finances in a more structured way,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Nusa Mandiri Entrepreneur Center (NEC), Maruloh, stated that Hilal’s success reflects the entrepreneurial ecosystem built by UNM.
“At Nusa Mandiri University as the Digital Business Campus, we encourage students not to wait until graduation to start a business. NEC is present as a forum for fostering, mentoring, and strengthening business models so that students are encouraged to execute ideas and are able to manage them professionally. Hilal’s story shows that students can become entrepreneurs from an early age with the right strategy,” said Maruloh.
According to Maruloh, NEC continues to strengthen support so that student businesses not only survive but also grow sustainably and are able to compete in the digital market.
“This story is proof that UNM students are not just theoretical learners, but adaptive and visionary entrepreneurs. At the Digital Business Campus, students are encouraged to become creators of opportunities and drivers of the digital economy from an early age,” said Maruloh.
