JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia Group in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMFI), recorded an operating profit of US$6.76 million for the first quarter of 2026. GMF’s President Director, Andi Fahrurrozi, stated that this figure represents a 78.28% increase compared to the same period last year, which was US$3.79 million. The profit growth aligns with the company’s revenue expansion. By the end of March 2026, GMF’s revenue reached US$114.94 million, up 20.53% from US$95.36 million in the first quarter of 2025. “The profit and revenue growth at the start of this year reflects the momentum of GMF’s increasingly solid business strengthening. In addition to being supported by increased maintenance activities,” Andi said in an official statement on Thursday (7/5/2026). “This achievement also demonstrates GMF’s increasingly competitive capabilities in meeting the needs of the domestic and international aviation industry,” Andi continued. One example is the completion of the first independent full overhaul for the CFM56-5B engine owned by Citilink. The project was supported by funding from Danantara. This achievement is part of efforts to support the improvement of the Garuda Indonesia Group’s fleet serviceability while strengthening national engineering capabilities. GMF also expanded its international customer base by adding new clients from South Korea, namely Airzeta and T-Way. “The company also completed several global strategic projects, including the overhaul of an A330 aircraft for Korean Air and landing gear replacement for Fiji Airways,” Andi explained. In addition to the aviation sector, GMF strengthened its engineering business diversification through non-aviation projects. One such project is the normalisation of the PLTG MPP Balai Pungut TM2500 #3 for PLN Batam. “This is part of the company’s strategy to expand sources of business growth based on engineering services,” he added. The certification expands GMF’s service scope in the international market. Amid the increase in profitability, the company’s capital condition also shows strengthening.
