Garuda falls short

Garuda falls short

From Pelita

On Oct. 12, 2001, my nephew flew on flight GA-185 from Medan to Jakarta. The departure from Medan and arrival at Soekarno- Hatta International Airport were both on schedule.

Unfortunately, the passengers had to wait 25 minutes for the bus that was to take them to Terminal II.

My nephew was really disappointed with the service of the state-owned flag carrier as almost every day some private television station here airs its ads saying that Garuda has improved its service. This incident, however, has proved otherwise.

It would be better if Garuda, rather than spending huge amounts on its promotional campaign, provided more buses so it could ensure that the airline provided better service to its customers. That way, the company would able to act according to its motto.
