Garuda Airways is better now

On June 25, 2001, I flew with Garuda Indonesian Airways (GA 829) from Singapore to Jakarta.

After the plane had taken off, I realized that I had left my wallet behind on the Air France plane (AF 256) on which I had flown from Paris to Jakarta.

I asked the Garuda stewardess to track down my wallet which contained several credit cards, some cash, an identity card and a driver's license.

The stewardess adroitly coordinated with the other plane crew members and finally got the information that my wallet was found and it was at the Air France office in Singapore. One of the Garuda crew offered to pick up my wallet and take it to Jakarta on their next flight. Coincidentally, my wife was being in Singapore so I asked her to pick up the wallet. That evening my wife had my wallet with her.

Thanks to Garuda Indonesia Airways, especially to Ms. Sintje Rumengan, Ms. Yolanda Thomas and Captain Pulung Istiyono, who were very professional in helping me, and certainly to the Air France crew who found and returned my wallet.
