Garbage bins installed in Kuta

South Kuta Beach Business Association, in cooperation with Telkom and Kabelvision, has launched a Kuta cleanup scheme by placing 30 double-container garbage bins in the area between Ngurah Rai International Airport and Kuta Square, Kuta.

The brightly colored, orange and blue bins are clearly visible and, it is hoped, will help to keep the tourist area free from litter.

Association chairman Urs Klee said that the scheme was a good example of cooperation between the private and government sectors.

The private sector has provided the bins, and the government -- in this case the Parks and Sanitation Agency -- will dispose of the garbage. -- JP
