North Sulawesi - Various activities took place during the celebration of the 64th Dies Natalis of the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI), held at Sutan Raja in Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi Province, on Monday (27/4/2026).

The highlight of the event was the National Easter Peak Service themed “Christ Risen Renews Our Humanity”.

The event was attended by GAMKI General Chairman Sahat Sinurat, Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (Wamen P2MI) and Deputy Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla, as well as Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Todotua Pasaribu.

As stated by the General Chairman of the GAMKI Central Executive Board, Sahat Sinurat, the 64th Dies Natalis event and the National Easter as an annual agenda are not merely routine faith celebrations, but rather a momentum to strengthen bonds while affirming the ecumenical role of Christian youth in community empowerment and national service.

According to him, this spirit is reflected in GAMKI executives across Indonesia. Moreover, the event incorporates elements of culture and spirituality in the thanksgiving service, which will be led by Rev. Ch. Raintama Pangulimang as the officiant.

“Today, we are conducting the Easter celebration service and the 64th Dies Natalis of GAMKI, which must become the spirit of GAMKI’s presence in the midst of society. Of course, GAMKI cadres must be the main drivers in building a civilisation of tolerance,” emphasised Sahat Sinurat.

GAMKI also highlighted the issue of the Middle East war, which has led to rising fuel prices. According to him, the global community is currently facing challenges from the war in the Middle East related to energy and food issues.

“We must encourage our cadres to get involved in food security, such as in some regions like NTT, Sulawesi, and Maluku. We are collaborating with several churches to promote food resilience,” he stated.

“That shows that we live in a diverse and pluralistic society, and we must maintain our commitment to prevent divisions and conflicts in the midst of society,” he added.

On the other hand, Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Todotua Pasaribu stated that the Easter celebration service and the 64th Dies Natalis of GAMKI serve as inspiration for the cadres.

“GAMKI cadres must remain united and together, especially in the face of the global situation involving the war in the Middle East,” he said.

“Given the current world situation, there must be national unity and solidarity from all elements of the nation to support all government programmes and activities,” he continued.

As we know, the 64th Dies Natalis GAMKI event and the GAMKI Easter celebration held in North Sulawesi Province included various activities, including the GAMKI Award, an MSME exhibition, and social service initiatives.
