Fuel Supply Fulfilled, Waste Disposal at Mandung Landfill Resumes Smoothly
Waste disposal activities at the Mandung Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Sembung Gede Village, Kerambitan Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency, returned to normal on Thursday (23/4/2026). This situation occurred after the fuel supply for heavy equipment operations was fulfilled.
Since Thursday morning, trucks have begun taking turns to unload, with priority given to the Environmental Agency (DLH) fleet. The Head of the Tabanan Regency Waste and Sewage Processing Unit, I Wayan Atmaja, stated that activities resumed at 07:00 WITA after Pertadex fuel arrived on Wednesday (22/4/2026) night.
“When the information about the fuel arrived, we immediately stood by at Pertamina Abiantiwung from the night,” said Wayan Atmaja.
According to him, 320 litres of Pertadex were delivered, estimated to be sufficient for operations over the next four days. Under normal conditions, one piece of heavy equipment requires about 80 litres of fuel per day. Atmaja emphasised that the presence of heavy equipment is vital for the landfill’s operations.
“This heavy equipment is like the heart of the TPA. Without it, the waste cannot be arranged and risks overflowing onto the road,” he said.
He explained that Pertadex fuel purchases must be made at Pertamina Abiantiwung in accordance with the cooperation agreement (PKS). Efforts to purchase from other locations were considered during the emergency, but could not be carried out due to administrative obstacles.
On the other hand, waste transportation services by DLH trucks have begun to resume after being halted for three days. As a result, several points in the Tabanan City area experienced waste accumulation.
Atmaja targets that the truck disposal queues can be cleared gradually by Thursday afternoon.
“Today it will be completed because the waste has accumulated for three days. Normally it’s transported twice a day, but this time only once,” he concluded.
