BANYUWANGI, KOMPAS.com – PT Pertamina has assured that fuel supplies in the Ijen Ring area will remain secure in the lead-up to Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, despite anticipated increased consumption during the extended holiday period.

The Ijen Ring area encompasses Banyuwangi, Jember, Bondowoso, and Situbondo in the East Java region.

This area serves as a logistics distribution route and a major traffic artery on the eastern side of Java.

Therefore, updates on fuel stock resilience in this area are crucial for Pertamina to ensure smooth mobility for the public and the distribution of goods during the Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr period.

The Integrated Terminal Manager of Tanjung Wangi, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alia Anggraini, stated that the projected increase in fuel consumption during this year’s Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays is expected to be in the range of 3 to 5 percent.

“Based on data from previous years, the increase this year is expected to be in Bio Solar and Pertalite,” Alia told Kompas.com on Thursday (February 26, 2026).

The storage tank capacity at the Integrated Terminal Tanjung Wangi reaches 32,000 kiloliters (KL).

Under normal conditions, daily fuel consumption for the four regencies ranges from 2,300 KL to 2,500 KL for all types of fuel, and it is predicted to increase to around 2,700 to 2,800 KL in the lead-up to the exodus season, especially for Bio Solar and Pertalite.

“For Banyuwangi, daily consumption is around 800 KL to 1,000 KL per day,” she said.

To anticipate the surge in demand, Pertamina has prepared a fleet of fuel tankers to ensure the distribution of fuel and LPG to petrol stations meets public needs.

On the other hand, the supply of LPG for the community is also guaranteed to be secure during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, both in terms of stock and distribution fleet.

“Thank God, our stock resilience and tank capacity, which is above 16 to 17 days, are also sufficient,” she said.

Alia added that there will be extra deliveries of both fuel and LPG during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays, with the amount adjusted to community needs.

“However, during this fasting period, there is no need for extra deliveries because the existing allocation is sufficient and secure,” she concluded.
