Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has emphasised that the government will not adjust the prices of subsidised and non-subsidised Fuel Oil (BBM) tomorrow, 1 April 2026.

He conveyed this during a press conference on the Government’s Policy in Mitigating Risks and Anticipating Global Dynamics, held virtually from South Korea on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

“We would like to address the issue of price adjustments. We have the President’s directive and the meeting outcomes: there will be no upward or downward adjustment for subsidised BBM prices; they will remain flat at the current rates,” he stated during the press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

“For non-subsidised BBM, we are discussing with the Pertamina team and other private fuel stations until the time is right—what time? Wait, meaning there will be no price adjustment yet; they will remain the same,” he stressed.

“I ask the public to hold information from the government; besides that, I urge us to manage information more wisely. The goal is to maintain stability,” he advised.

“As a former angkot driver, I invite the public: in this situation, the government cannot work alone; it needs public cooperation, with reasonable and wise BBM purchases in our view as angkot drivers. A car with a 50-litre tank full in a day is enough; we push it there. For non-essential uses, please do so wisely,” he added.

“Regarding Pertadex or high-quality diesel BBM, there is no price adjustment yet, and what the State Secretary conveyed is exactly that—neither more nor less. Of course, with global price fluctuations, we will also review according to world developments,” he explained.

“I think that’s the Coordinating Minister; clearly, there is no adjustment for subsidised BBM prices. The interests of the people, especially our less fortunate brothers and sisters, must receive more attention so that all policies can run well,” he concluded.

Previously, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi had stated the same. He assured that there would be no increase in prices for subsidised and non-subsidised BBM tomorrow, 1 April 2026.

“So, we need to convey that after coordination— in this case, the government and the Ministry of ESDM together with Pertamina and based on instructions from the President. The President always prioritises the interests of the people and society in making decisions,” Prasetyo said in a press statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

“That is why Pertamina has stated that it will not adjust prices for either subsidised or non-subsidised BBM,” continued the politician from the Great Indonesia Movement Party.
