Free Running Race This Saturday Night in South Jakarta

JAKARTA — The South Jakarta Police District will organise a free running race in Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, on Saturday, 7 March 2026 evening. The announcement was shared via the @polisijaksel Instagram account on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

Pesanggrahan Police Chief AKP Seala Syah Alam confirmed the event. “The aim is to accommodate the needs of many children and teenagers who engage in street racing or illegal running, so we are facilitating the activity with security in accordance with standard procedures,” Seala explained when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday.

The event will run from 22:00 WIB until the early hours of Sunday, 8 March 2026 at 00:00 WIB. The activity is scheduled for the evening as roads are less congested with vehicles at that time, thereby ensuring better safety and comfort for participants. Police will provide security throughout the event.

“The activity is in the evening—the main priority is the safety of road users, as a daytime event would disrupt traffic and community activities, and also protect the children themselves from the risk of traffic accidents,” Seala said.

Registration has opened with limited places available. Participants can register directly at the secretariat located on Jalan Bintaro Taman Barat, Pesanggrahan.
