Jakarta — PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has launched the Free Mudik PGN 2026 programme, dispatching participants as part of support for the smooth flow of Eid holiday travellers in the Islamic year 1447 Hijriah. The departure of travellers took place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, on Friday (13 March 2026), with destinations to several cities across Java Island.

This programme forms part of the national Free Mudik BUMN 2026 initiative, which involves numerous state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries. Through the provision of organised mass transportation, the programme is intended to help the public undertake holiday travel in a safer, more comfortable and orderly manner.

PGN Chief Executive Officer Arief Kurnia Risdianto stated that the programme is part of the company’s efforts to deliver social benefits from its energy business operations.

“In line with the spirit of Pertamina Energising Indonesia, PGN is committed to providing energy that not only drives national economic growth but also delivers tangible benefits to the community,” Arief said, through a press statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

The routes served include Jakarta–Tasikmalaya, Jakarta–Yogyakarta, Jakarta–Jepara, Jakarta–Wonogiri, Jakarta–Klaten, Jakarta–Surabaya, and Jakarta–Madiun.

In addition to departures from TMII, traveller dispatches are also scheduled to occur on 17 March from several other points, namely the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area and jointly with Pertamina at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) office. This represents part of cross-BUMN collaboration in organising the joint mudik programme.

To ensure travel proceeds safely and orderly, the committee conducted operational oversight in the field. All buses have undergone ramp checks, whilst 51 bus crew members passed health examinations.

Participants also received safety briefing before departure as a risk prevention measure during travel.

PGN also provided various supporting activities at the departure locations, such as light entertainment, games, a PGN Mudik Story wall, and a mobile photobooth. These activities are intended to provide a more memorable mudik experience before participants begin their journey.

Arief added that the free mudik programme is also expected to help reduce traffic congestion and lower the risk of accidents during the Eid holiday period.

“Mudik is not merely a journey home to one’s hometown but also an important opportunity to strengthen kinship and family togetherness,” Arief said.

“This initiative is part of PGN’s sustained commitment to grow alongside society and strengthen the company’s corporate social care values,” he added.

Muhammad Awaluddin, Chief Executive Officer of Jasa Raharja and Coordinator of the Free Mudik BUMN 2026 programme, stated that passenger safety is the top priority in implementing the programme.
