JAKARTA — Efforts to strengthen nutrition provision for schoolchildren continue through various government programmes. In several regions, the implementation of these programmes also receives support from the private sector, which helps expand the reach of nutrition assistance to students.

One such initiative is the Sehati (Healthy Nutritious Milk) programme run by PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk (TAPG). The programme distributes milk to schoolchildren in areas surrounding the company’s operational regions, such as Jambi, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan.

Sehati forms part of the sustainability initiative “TAP for the Nation” which focuses on improving the health and education quality of the younger generation. Through regular milk distribution, the company hopes to help meet children’s nutritional needs and support optimal growth and development during school age.

“I like drinking milk, not only does it taste good but it also makes me stronger for studying and playing football. Thank you TAP,” said Antonius, a student from SDN 2 Jahitan, Seruyan, Central Kalimantan, one of the recipients of milk from Triputra Agro Persada’s Sehati programme.

The implementation of Sehati also receives support from various parties as part of cross-sector collaboration to ensure the distribution of additional nutrition to schoolchildren runs smoothly and reaches the intended beneficiaries.

General Rudy Rachmat Nugraha, Commander of Kodam VI/Mulawarman, expressed appreciation for the programme during the launch of Sehati in East Kalimantan in August 2025.

“We express our appreciation for Triputra Agro Persada’s care and support,” said Rudy.

“This cooperation demonstrates the seriousness of both parties in building concrete synergy to strengthen food security, support the education sector, and improve the welfare of communities in East Kalimantan,” he added.

Dadan Hindayana, Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), previously explained that implementation of the programme in several regions has demonstrated positive effects for schoolchildren.

The National Nutrition Agency recorded increases in student attendance at school, more active learning engagement, and improved physical resilience in children’s activities and play in areas that have been running the programme for a full year.

“As soon as there was a nutritious meal programme, the child woke up earlier and woke up his grandmother,” Dadan said, recounting the behavioural change of a child in Papua.
