Four 'Police Helpers' from Riau Police Awarded for Humanitarian Action
The Traffic Directorate of Riau Police presented awards to four personnel in recognition of their humanitarian actions. The four personnel have become ‘Police Helpers’ to the community on the roadways.
The awards were presented directly by the Traffic Directorate Commander of Riau Police, Kombes Jeki Rahmat Mustika, at the BPKB Prototype Building of the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police, Pattimura Street, Pekanbaru. Kombes Jeki expressed appreciation for the alertness of the four personnel as ‘Police Helpers’.
“These awards represent leadership’s appreciation for the personnel’s dedication and concern in providing assistance to the community. What our colleagues have done is a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian National Police’s presence among the people,” said Kombes Jeki in his remarks on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
In his address, Kombes Jeki instructed all personnel of the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police to consistently provide the best service to the community with sincerity, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility.
“I remind all personnel to continue improving service quality, adopt a humanitarian approach, remain responsive, and always be present as a solution for the community. Make every duty a field of service,” he emphasised.
The four personnel are from the Highway Patrol Unit (PJR) of the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police, including Ipda Indra Gunawan, Aiptu Jansen Sihombing, Aipda Ismet, and Aipda Robi Hartanto. All four were known to have assisted motorists who fell ill whilst driving on the roadways.
The awards ceremony took place solemnly and was attended by all senior officials, section heads, officers, personnel, civil servants, and supporting staff within the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police.
This activity represents the commitment of the Traffic Directorate of Riau Police in delivering swift, accurate service oriented towards safety and humanitarian values. Kombes Jeki praised the humanitarian actions, describing them as an embodiment of the motto ‘Protecting Virtue, Upholding Dignity’ as mandated by the Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Herry Heryawan.
