Jakarta — A total of four padel courts in North Jakarta have been sealed by the North Jakarta Sub-office for Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs (Sudin Citata) for failing to obtain Building Approval (PBG) permits.

Yanuar Riyadi, Head of the Space Utilisation and Control Section at Sudin Citata North Jakarta, stated that the sealing took place on Wednesday (3 March 2026) and Thursday (4 March 2026).

“Several padel court locations that have been sanctioned include Nordic Padel in Pademangan, Mega Padel in Penjaringan, Gaskan Pendekar Arena Padel in Tanjung Priok, and 5ive Padel in Kelapa Gading,” he said when contacted by Kompas.com on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

Yanuar explained that enforcement was carried out through administrative measures with the placement of enforcement notices.

“Administrative enforcement includes issuing Warning Letters (SP), Temporary Activity Cessation Orders (SPKKS), and Permanent Activity Cessation Orders/sealing (SPPKT),” he stated.

He added that his office would continue to conduct periodic monitoring to ensure there are no activities at the four padel courts while their licensing issues remain unresolved.

“If any operators are non-compliant, we will take further action,” he said.

Yanuar urged business operators to promptly fulfil licensing requirements for their padel courts.

The sealing has no time limit. Padel courts can only resume operations once operators have completed the licensing process in accordance with applicable regulations.

“We hope prospective padel court operators will process their permits before commencing construction activities,” he said.

Regarding permit processing, authorities emphasised they are ready to assist prospective operators in the licensing process.

“We (Sudin Citata North Jakarta) are ready to assist with the licensing process,” they stated.

Meanwhile, one operations manager of a padel court in the Ancol area, Petrus Assa, acknowledged that his facility had not yet obtained PBG approval, although the application process was underway.
