Four motorcycles stolen in Bogor

BOGOR: Four motorcycles were stolen on Sunday adding the long-
list of both cars and motorcycles reported stolen to Bogor
Police.

The motorcycles stolen this time were a Suzuki Shogun, two
Honda Astreas and a Kawasaki.

Last year, Bogor City Police Precinct recorded 421 cases of
auto and bike theft. This number was the highest compared to
other precincts, such as Sukabumi (225 cases), Cianjur (88) and
Bogor Regency (239).

Antara reported Tuesday that Bogor Police chief Sr. Comr.
Nanan Soekarna has pledged to fight auto and bike theft in Bogor,
Sukabumi and Cianjur. He also said his priority this year would
be to reduce the overall number of such thefts.

A total of 975 cases were recorded during 2001, which was 30
percent higher than in 2000. -- JP
