Four legislators lose jobs
NABIRE, Irian Jaya: Governor Jacob Pattipi has approved the withdrawal of four legislators of the Paniai regency legislative council because they have been disloyal to the ruling Golkar party they represent.
The legislators that will soon be jobless are Hardi Fabanyo, Yan Bonay, Simon K. Douw and council spokesperson Jance Kayame.
Their dismissals were decided in a plenary session of the Golkar faction on Monday in which 18 out of 24 legislators voted for the dismissals, Antara reported.
The meeting also proposed that Elco Youw, S.P. Hanibora, Alfred Matini and Hubertus Adii replace them.
Paniai regent Yoesoef Adipatah, who is also head of the Golkar's local board of patrons, said the firing of the four council members had been done in line with prevailing regulations.(imn)
