Four Injured Following Damage at Dubai Airport from Iranian Missile Attack
Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates sustained damage during Iranian missile strikes targeting various locations across Gulf Arab states, according to aviation sources on Sunday, 1 March 2026. Authorities reported that four people were injured.
Dubai media office stated on X that “a waiting area at Dubai International Airport (DXB) sustained minor damage in an incident, which was swiftly handled,” without providing further details.
Aviation sources told Reuters that one terminal at the airport, typically one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, was damaged during the Iranian strikes overnight. Authorities publicly described this as an “incident.”
The sources also indicated that Abu Dhabi International Airport came under attack. They did not clarify whether both airports sustained direct impacts or whether the damage resulted from debris following missile interception.
No immediate response was received from Reuters requests for comment sent to Dubai Airports or Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
Iranian missiles were fired at Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha, all major east-west aviation gateways. Airlines suspended flights throughout the Middle East on Saturday, including to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, following US and Israeli strikes against Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory missile assault. Flight tracking maps showed airspace across most of the region nearly empty.
Dubai Airport suspended all flights at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, urging passengers not to travel. Emirates and flydubai halted operations, whilst Etihad suspended all departures from Abu Dhabi until Sunday morning.
