Foundation and business
Foundation and business
From Bisnis Indonesia
Recently I noticed the advertisement of a particular foundation, which said that it has nothing to do with another foundation, despite the fact that their names are similar. The big advertisement must have cost a lot of money -- hundreds of millions of rupiah.
My question, as a layman, is why should the foundations concerned use an advertisement to settle their case? In fact they could hold a press conference and put the records straight. The common people can only guess what is going on between the foundations -- a matter of business interest.
It has been a long practice for some parties to use a foundation as a cover or camouflage for business, simply to avoid the responsibility of paying tax. How can a foundation, which claims to be non-profit oriented, pay this costly advertisement, as displayed in some media?
Where do they get the money from?
