The West Nusa Tenggara Attorney General’s Office (Kejati NTB) has uncovered allegations of billions of rupiah in gratuities implicating Subhan, the former Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) for Sumbawa and Central Lombok, while the land corruption case for the MXGP Samota Circuit remains ongoing in court.

The Assistant Special Criminal Prosecutor (Aspidsus) of Kejati NTB, Muh Zulkifli Said, stated that the value of gratuities received by Subhan amounts to billions of rupiah, though details have not yet been specified.

“There is. Billions,” said Zulkifli on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Subhan served as Head of BPN Sumbawa from 2022-2023 and Central Lombok from 2023-2025. The case has now progressed to the investigation stage, with witness examinations still underway.

“We are still conducting witness examinations,” he said.

In addition to gratuities, Kejati NTB is also probing suspected money laundering offences (TPPU) related to the matter. Investigators have searched the BPN offices in Sumbawa and Central Lombok.

Several documents related to TPPU were seized during the searches.

“There are several (documents seized), related to the TPPU,” Zulkifli stated.

To date, no suspects have been determined in either of the two cases.

“Still examining witnesses. No suspects yet,” he said.

Implicated in the MXGP Land Case

On the other hand, Subhan is currently on trial as a defendant in the corruption case involving the purchase of 70 hectares of land for the MXGP Samota Circuit in Sumbawa. He is charged alongside Pung Saifullah Zulkarnaen and Muhammad Jan.

The land was purchased by the Sumbawa Government from former East Lombok Regent Ali Bin Dachlan for Rp 52 billion. During the investigation, state losses of Rp 6.7 billion were identified, which have been returned.

At the time of procurement, Subhan served as Head of BPN Sumbawa and also as the implementation chairman. The other two defendants are appraisers from the Public Appraiser Services Office (KJPP).

The three defendants have jointly requested a transfer from detention to house or city arrest.

Pung Saifullah Zulkarnaen and Muhammad Jan were the first to submit the request through their legal representative, Emil Siain, citing health reasons.

“The first one is the health condition. Because one of our clients suffered a stroke in November (2025). So he still requires intensive care,” said Emil.

Medical documents were attached to support the request.

“We have prepared them there (in the request file) medical records, health lab examination results, and the latest examination results by the prison doctor where the two defendants are detained,” he said.

The request was also accompanied by guarantees from family and professional organisations.

“The guarantors are first from the defendants’ families, as well as the organisations where the two are affiliated, namely Mappi and Ikindo,” he said.

Subhan, through his legal representative Kurniadi, also submitted a similar request citing illness.

“Early this morning we received information (before the indictment reading trial began) from our client, that he actually could not attend today’s trial (Wednesday, 15/4/2026), due to complaints of pain in the chest, epigastric area, and lower back,” said Kurniadi.

Subhan is said to suffer from acute GERD and has a history of fluid buildup in the lungs.

“We are concerned about the indications experienced by our client. We fear they could become fatal, Your Honour,” he said.

The panel of judges, chaired by Lalu Moh Sandi Iramaya, has not yet decided on the request and will consider it further.

“The request (for suspension of detention) is a right of each defendant. However, this request will certainly be considered objectively,” said Sandi.

The decision will be announced at the next trial on Wednesday (22/4/2026), along with the agenda of reading the exceptions.

“We will consider it objectively,” he stated.
