Former Bima Police Chief Dismissed; National Police Pledge Firm Action Against Officers Who Break the Law
Former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro has been handed a dishonourable discharge (PTDH) over narcotics abuse and sexual misconduct. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) affirmed that the ruling reflects its commitment to taking firm action against officers who engage in reprehensible conduct.
“On the instruction of the National Police Chief to the Head of the Professional and Security Division, we wish to convey that this represents a commitment, a consistency towards every act of misconduct,” said National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko after announcing the outcome of the ethics hearing for AKBP Didik at the TNCC Building, National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Thursday (19 February 2026).
Trunoyudo said the National Police would immediately undertake preventive detection measures upon finding any indication of officer involvement in activities inconsistent with the values of the Bhayangkara Corps, particularly in narcotics cases.
“We know this constitutes an extraordinary crime. Therefore, we must collectively pay close attention to this particular category of criminal offence,” Trunoyudo said.
“The commitment from NTB Regional Police, the commitment from the Professional and Security Division, the commitment from the Criminal Investigation Agency, including the commitment of the National Police Chief to take firm measures — all of this continues to this day,” he added.
AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro underwent his ethics hearing on the same day. The National Police imposed the sanction of dishonourable discharge.
“The decision is dishonourable discharge, or PTDH, as a member of the National Police,” Trunoyudo said, reading the ethics hearing verdict.
AKBP Didik is believed to have received money and narcotics from former head of the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Malaungi, who has already been subject to legal proceedings. The sanction was imposed on the grounds of narcotics abuse and committing acts of sexual misconduct.
AKBP Didik was present in person at the closed hearing. He stated that he accepted the administrative sanction imposed upon him.
