Former Bima Police Chief AKBP Didik Named Narcotics Suspect, Dishonourably Discharged from National Police
The National Police Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearing against former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro has concluded, with the officer found to have committed violations in connection with a narcotics abuse case.
National Police Public Relations Division spokesperson Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the commission was chaired by Deputy Chief of the National Police Internal Affairs Inspectorate General Merdisyam, with Brigadier General Agus Wijayanto of the Professional and Security Division serving as deputy chair.
“The commission has imposed an ethical sanction, declaring the conduct in question to be a reprehensible act,” Trunoyudo told reporters at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday (19 February 2026).
AKBP Didik was sentenced to seven days of special placement and, more significantly, the National Police imposed dishonourable discharge (PTDH) upon him.
“The decision is dishonourable discharge, or PTDH, as a member of the National Police,” Trunoyudo said.
Regarding the nature of the violations, AKBP Didik is believed to have received money and narcotics from the former head of the Bima City police narcotics unit, AKP Malaungi, who has already been subject to legal proceedings.
“The source was AKP Malaungi, who obtained the drugs from a narcotics dealer operating in the Bima City area,” Trunoyudo explained.
Trunoyudo added that the sanctions were imposed on the basis of narcotics abuse violations as well as immoral social misconduct.
AKBP Didik was present in person at the closed hearing and did not lodge an appeal against the administrative sanctions imposed upon him.
The National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) had previously named AKBP Didik as a suspect in the alleged narcotics abuse case. Officers also seized drug evidence found in a suitcase belonging to Didik.
The case is a development arising from the arrest of former Bima City police narcotics unit chief AKP Malaungi. A joint team from Bareskrim and the West Nusa Tenggara regional police continues to hunt a major dealer with the initials E, suspected of being the primary supplier in the network.
Police are also continuing to investigate the full extent of Didik’s involvement in the illicit drugs operation.
