Former Bima City Police Chief Claims He Never Ordered Subordinate to Collaborate with Drug Dealer
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro has claimed that he never ordered former Bima City Police Narcotics Unit Head AKP Malaungi to cooperate with Erwin, a drug dealer.
Didik conveyed this through his legal representative, Rofiq Ashari, in a stamped letter read out at the TNCC Building of the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday.
"I never asked or ordered AKP Malaungi to cooperate with any party, including a person named Ko Erwin, particularly in the distribution or trading of narcotics, psychotropic substances, or any other type of prohibited drugs," Rofiq read from Didik's letter.
Rofiq also disclosed that his client stated he had never known, never met, and never cooperated in any form with Erwin.
Furthermore, he said his client declared he had never ordered AKP Malaungi to solicit money from Erwin.
Regarding narcotics belonging to Didik found in a suitcase now secured by investigators, Rofiq revealed that his client had been using narcotics since 2019.
"He has been using narcotics and psychotropic substances since 2019. From what I can see, he is already dependent," he said.
The lawyer also stated that the drugs Didik possessed in the suitcase were obtained whilst he was assigned to the North Jakarta Police and had no connection to Malaungi.
"According to him, those drugs are unclaimed items. The term is unclaimed — items that were unused and never proceeded to court. They were not seized and did not become evidence in court," he said.
On Thursday, the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) handed down a verdict of dishonourable discharge against former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro in connection with the narcotics case.
Head of Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, revealed that the KKEP hearing found evidence of violations by Didik, namely that he had solicited and received money through the Bima City Police Narcotics Unit Head, identified as AKP M (Malaungi), sourced from a drug dealer operating in the Bima area.
"He committed narcotics abuse and engaged in deviant activities involving sexual misconduct," he said.
In addition to the administrative sanction of dishonourable discharge, Didik was also given an administrative penalty of placement in a special facility for seven days from 13 to 19 February 2026 at the Special Detention Room of the Professional and Security Division of the National Police, a sanction which has already been served.
Beyond that, Didik was also given an ethical sanction, with his behaviour declared as disgraceful conduct.
"Upon the verdict, the offender stated before the Chairman and Members of the Police Code of Ethics Commission that he accepted the ruling," he said.
