Former Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Bahtiar Charged with Corruption Over Pineapple Seedlings Worth Rp60 Billion
Former Acting Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Bahtiar Baharuddin has been designated as a suspect in a corruption case involving pineapple seedlings worth Rp60 billion in the 2024 fiscal year. In addition to Bahtiar, five other individuals have been named as suspects.
According to detiksulsel on Monday, 9 March 2026 at 20:24 WITA, four other suspects first descended to the lobby of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati). Meanwhile, Bahtiar was reported still undergoing examination in the Special Crimes Division on the fifth floor until 21:10 WITA.
“Administrative procedures are still ongoing upstairs, it probably won’t be long before he comes down,” said one officer at the Kejati Sulsel location.
The suspects who had completed their examination wore masks and pink vests when exiting the lift. All five were immediately taken to the Kejati Sulsel detention vehicle in front of the lobby.
In addition to Bahtiar, the five other individuals designated as suspects include two other civil servants with initials RE (35) and UN (49), the Director of PT AAN with initials RM (55), and a private sector employee with initials RE (40).
Meanwhile, one suspect with initials UN has not been executed today due to illness. Based on information gathered, the suspects will be detained separately at the Prison and Penal Institution in Makassar.
