The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has urged Indonesian citizens to postpone travel if they plan to visit the Middle East region. This follows the escalation of the situation after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on Saturday (28 February 2026).

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Indonesian citizens who plan to travel through or transit in the Middle East region to reconsider their travel plans and postpone travel until the situation becomes more conducive,” the Kemlu stated through its official X account on Sunday (1 March 2026).

The Kemlu revealed that the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) and Indonesian representative offices in the Middle East region are maintaining intensive communication and coordinating with Indonesian citizens in their respective areas of operation. Indonesian representatives have urged all Indonesian citizens in affected areas to remain calm, increase vigilance, follow local authority instructions, and maintain regular communication with the nearest Indonesian representative office.

The appeal is also directed at Indonesian citizens experiencing travel difficulties due to the developing situation in the Middle East. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with all Indonesian representative offices in the region, will continue to monitor and conduct comprehensive assessments of the security situation dynamics, actual conditions on the ground, and handling measures being undertaken and to be undertaken in response to future developments,” the Kemlu stated.

The Kemlu added that in emergency situations, Indonesian citizens can immediately contact the Hotline of the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the number +62 812-9007-0027 or the following Indonesian Representative Office Hotlines:
