Foreign Investors Return as IHSG Surges 4.42%, These Are the Stocks They Bought
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) recovered after being under pressure in the previous few days. The index surged 308.181 points or 4.42% to the level of 7,279.209 at the close of trading on Wednesday (8/4/2026). This sharp rise was accompanied by buying actions from foreign investors (net buy). Foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp632.88 billion. Of this amount, Rp573.21 billion occurred in the regular market, while Rp59.67 billion came from the cash and negotiated markets. Several blue-chip stocks became targets for foreign accumulation. Shares of PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) recorded the largest net buy at Rp142.8 billion. This was followed by PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk (AADI) at Rp142.5 billion, and PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) at Rp96.1 billion. On the other hand, foreign investors also conducted selling actions on several large stocks. Shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) recorded the largest net sell of Rp375.6 billion. Then PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk (CUAN) at Rp284.4 billion, and PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM) at Rp119.5 billion. For context, the IHSG strengthened sharply on Wednesday’s trading, rising 308.18 points or 4.42% to the level of 7,279.209. This increase became one of the most significant daily strengthenings in recent times. Throughout the trading session, the IHSG moved steadily in the green zone, after opening at 7,162.406. The index once reached a high of 7,281.863 and a low of 7,118.581.
