The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) has transferred the custody of AKP Malaungi to Bareskrim Polri in Jakarta.

NTB Regional Police Chief Inspector General Edy Murbowo stated that the transfer of AKP Malaungi to Jakarta follows the arrest of “Koh Erwin” in connection with a drug trafficking case, which took place on Thursday 26 February in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra.

“We have a joint investigation involving Polda NTB and Bareskrim, to clarify matters further. To clarify the respective roles of each party. What comes next? Bareskrim and Polda NTB will investigate further,” he said in Mataram, NTB, on Friday 27 February.

AKP Malaungi was dispatched to Jakarta on Friday morning, Edy said. Edy hopes the National Police Headquarters can complete the investigation puzzle regarding the drug trafficking case in the NTB region, given that Koh Erwin and AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro are already at Bareskrim.

“Perhaps there will be a joint investigation held there, cooperation to uncover the case to make matters clearer,” he said.

The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of Bareskrim Polri previously confirmed that a combined team from Sub-Directorate IV and the Narcotics Information and Intelligence Task Force (NIC) of Bareskrim Polri arrested suspected drug baron Koh Erwin, who was on the wanted persons list.

Koh Erwin was arrested in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, as he was about to cross into Malaysia on Thursday 26 February.

During the arrest operation, officers also apprehended two other suspected perpetrators identified as A alias Y and R alias K from different locations. Suspect A alias Y was arrested in Riau, whilst R alias K was arrested in Tanjung Balai alongside Koh Erwin.

They are alleged to have assisted Koh Erwin in fleeing to Malaysia to evade arrest by police officers.

The name Koh Erwin first emerged during a press conference held by AKP Malaungi’s legal counsel, Asmuni.

Asmuni stated that his client, in the investigation report as a suspect in a drug trafficking case at the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of Polda NTB, had disclosed all parties involved.

From a series of investigation reports before police investigators, AKP Malaungi, whilst serving as Chief of the Narcotics Crime Unit at Bima City Police, admitted knowing Koh Erwin as a drug trafficker who gave him 488 grams of methamphetamine at the Marina Inn Hotel in Bima City in late 2025.

The delivery of methamphetamine in five plastic bags is described as a follow-up to a bribe of 1 billion rupiah from Koh Erwin.

The trafficker, reportedly a veteran operator, handed over 1 billion rupiah with the intention of helping AKP Malaungi fulfil his superior’s wish to own the latest Alphard vehicle worth 1.8 billion rupiah.

AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro, as Chief of Bima City Police, is also mentioned in the investigation report, welcoming Koh Erwin’s intention and arranging plans with his subordinate, AKP Malaungi, to ensure Koh Erwin’s methamphetamine business ran smoothly within Bima City Police jurisdiction.
