Focus on Strengthening the MSME Ecosystem, the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment Takes Action to Broaden Market Access
Jakarta — The Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment (Kemenko PM) is stepping up its commitment to building a robust and competitive ecosystem for micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). One of its initiatives is the Festival Jejak Jajanan Nusantara, scheduled for 6–8 March 2026 in Jakarta. Deputy for Community Economic Empowerment and Migrant Worker Protection Leontinus Alpha Edison said that expanding market access is the primary focus of its UMKM empowerment strategy. The festival is conceived not merely as a culinary promotion, but as a model of economic empowerment built on collaboration and capacity-building for business actors.
‘The main focus of Kemenko PM is to strengthen the UMKM ecosystem by opening broader market access through curating high-quality, competitive products,’ Edison said in a written statement on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
He added that at this edition of Festival Jejak Jajanan Nusantara, more than 40 curated UMKM tenants will participate, presenting a range of Nusantara snacks that reflect rich culinary heritage and the creativity of local entrepreneurs. The festival offers an opportunity for UMKM that have not previously participated in bazaars or festivals to showcase their products directly to the public.
‘This effort is also an opportunity for UMKM that have not previously engaged in bazaar or festival activities to market and introduce their products directly to the public,’ he said.
As part of the comprehensive effort, Kemenko PM is presenting the UMKM Clinic and the Intellectual Property Clinic (Klinik HKI) as part of the Jejak Jajanan Nusantara programme. The UMKM Clinic is a centre providing free mentoring, consultations and facilitation to enhance the capacity of micro, small and medium enterprises. It serves as an important instrument to ensure UMKM have a legitimate, professional and sustainable business foundation.
In addition, the HKI Clinic provides consultations and facilitation for intellectual property registrations, such as trademarks, patents, copyrights and industrial designs. Protecting the works and innovations of UMKM is considered essential to prevent piracy and to increase value-added and market confidence in local products.
