The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang City reported that flooding conditions in Periuk District, Tangerang City, are gradually receding. Water levels, which previously reached 5.5 metres, have now dropped to approximately 2 metres.

Based on data from Tuesday (10 March 2026) at approximately 11:00 WIB, BPBD stated that most inundation points across the 11 districts have subsided. Flooding is now confined to Periuk District, which is beginning to recede.

The flooding previously resulted from heavy to very heavy rainfall since Saturday (7 March) evening, causing several rivers—including Kali Angke, Cirarab River, Kali Sabi, Kali Ledug, and Kali Tengah—to overflow.

Mahdiar, Acting Head of BPBD Tangerang City, explained that nearly all inundation and flooding points in districts such as Cipondoh, Benda, Batuceper, Jatiuwung, Cibodas, Karawaci, Larangan, Karang Tengah, Ciledug, and Pinang have now subsided. “Residents who had previously evacuated are largely returning home as water levels gradually recede, except for those affected in Periuk District,” Mahdiar stated.

In several areas of Periuk, such as Periuk Damai, Villa Mutiara Pluit, Total Persada Raya, Garden City, and Taman Elang, water remains but is gradually subsiding. “Previously, water levels at certain points in these areas reached approximately 4 metres in Periuk Damai residential area. This afternoon, the remaining water level is approximately 2 metres,” he said.

Tangerang City Department of Public Works Deploys Pumps

Taufik Syahzaeni, Head of the Department of Public Works and Housing (DPUPR) of Tangerang City, stated that his department is operating dozens of water pumps at various locations. In the Total Periuk area, for example, approximately 20 pumps are working to accelerate water extraction. “Meanwhile, in Garden City residential area there are approximately eight pumps, and six pumps in the Situ Bulakan area. All of these are currently being deployed to maximise the drainage process,” Taufik explained.

“Some pumps were previously unable to operate because they were submerged by floodwaters. However, repairs were carried out today and most have resumed operation,” he added.

Flood Height Reached 5.5 Metres

Previously, BPBD Tangerang City reported flooding conditions in Periuk District. The most severe flooding occurred in Periuk Damai residential area, reaching 5.5 metres. Based on BPBD data from Monday (9 March 2026) at 12:00 WIB, there were 22 flooding and inundation points in the Periuk area. Flooding occurred in three villages: Periuk, Gembor, and Gebang Raya.

Flood height in Periuk Damai residential area (RW 008) reached 5.5 metres. Villa Mutiara Pluit (RW 011) reached 3 metres, whilst Total Persada Raya residential area (RW 008) reached 3 metres. Other areas such as Purati residential area and parts of Villa Tangerang Indah remained in ‘inundation’ status with water levels between 20 centimetres and 55 centimetres.

More than 13,000 people were affected by the flooding, comprising vulnerable groups, infants, children, and adults. Some 6,842 people have been evacuated to various evacuation centres located in community halls, mosques, health clinics, and sports facilities.
