First Hearing in Customs Corruption Case Set for 6 May
The Central Jakarta District Court will hold the first hearing of the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, next week.
According to ANTARA on Friday, 24 April 2026, the spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, Andi Saputra, stated that the inaugural hearing is scheduled after the Corruption Criminal Court Clerkship at the Central Jakarta District Court registered the case under Number 19/Pid.Sus-TPK/2026/PN.JKT.PST.
βThe Chief Judge of the Central Jakarta District Court has appointed the panel of judges to hear the case, namely Brelly Yuniar Dien Wardi Haskori as the chief judge, along with Edward Agus and Nofalinda Arianti as member judges,β said Andi, as confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.
Previously, on 4 February 2026, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
In the operation, one of the parties apprehended was Rizal, the Head of the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office.
The following day, the KPK designated six out of 17 apprehended individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery and gratifications case related to the importation of counterfeit goods within the Customs and Excise environment of the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, the KPK named John Field (JF), the owner of Blueray Cargo; Andri (AND), the Head of the Import Documentation Team at Blueray Cargo; and Dedy Kurniawan (DK), the Operations Manager of Blueray Cargo, as suspects.
On 26 February 2026, the KPK named a new suspect, namely Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP), the Head of the Excise Intelligence Section of the Customs Enforcement and Investigation Directorate.
Subsequently, on 27 February 2026, the KPK revealed that it was investigating allegations of corruption in excise duty administration, including after seizing Rp5.19 billion in cash from five suitcases at a house in Ciputat, South Tangerang, suspected to be related to the case.
