First defendant admits kicking victim in car during bank branch manager kidnapping
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The first defendant, Sergeant MN, admitted to committing violence by kicking the head of a bank branch (kacab) in Jakarta, initialled MIP (37), twice during the kidnapping inside a vehicle.
“Permission, for the victim, I kicked twice while inside the car, on the way to Bekasi,” said Sergeant MN during the defendant examination hearing in the alleged kidnapping and murder case of the bank branch head in Jakarta, initialled MIP (37), at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Sergeant MN explained that the first kick hit the stomach area, while the second hit the chest. The action was carried out in a squatting position on the car seat, with both feet on the seat.
“The left foot hit the stomach, the right hit the chest,” said Sergeant MN.
This fact emerged when the Military Auditor from the Military Audit II-07 Jakarta, Major (Chk) Wasinton Marpaung, pressed the defendant during the trial.
“For the work order, from Mr Dwi Hartono (witness 3) and Yohannes Joko Pamuntas (witness 5), it was only to kidnap,” said Sergeant MN.
According to him, the order did not include any other actions besides taking the victim and then handing him over to the pickup team said to be from Dwi’s side. The handover location was planned in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta.
However, the scenario did not go as planned. Upon arriving in Kemayoran, the promised pickup team did not appear, and the provided contact number was inactive when called.
Then, the first defendant along with his two accomplices, namely Joko and Muhamad Umri, continued to take the victim using a Toyota Fortuner car.
They circled around the Kemayoran area before heading towards Bekasi, even passing through the Karawang area and switching drivers.
Inside the car, the victim was placed under the middle seat in a sideways position with his face facing the seat.
Sergeant MN also revealed his reason for kicking the victim, which was because he was annoyed that the victim would not stay still and kept moving, so he asked the victim to calm down.
“I kicked, I said ‘just stay quiet, don’t talk too much,’ like that,” said Sergeant MN.
The Military Auditor then linked this confession to the autopsy results showing broken ribs on the victim’s body.
This was deemed relevant to the victim’s position lying sideways in the middle seat, making it possible for a hard impact on the chest or ribs.
The defendants in the case, namely Sergeant MN (defendant 1), Kopda FH (defendant 2), and Sergeant FY (defendant 3), are charged with involvement in the kidnapping accompanied by the murder of MIP.
