First day of Motis 2026 registrations in Bekasi crowds the station.
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com — The Free Motorbike Homecoming Programme (Motis) 2026 organised by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport was immediately swamped by travellers on the first day of registration, which opened on 1 March 2026. The high level of public interest meant the initial quota filled quickly, and Bekasi Station’s facilities were crowded with registrants. The enthusiasm was evident from the surge in applicants in the first days after the quota opened.
Motis Station Bekasi coordinator Rizki Prasetya said the flood of registrants occurred because the quota remained available in large numbers at the outset. “From the first day until today, many residents are still registering—it’s the peak day, so to speak. Because the quota is still plentiful,” Rizki told Kompas.com at the scene on Thursday, 4 March 2026. “So, their last option is here. Because here we provide free motorcycle shipping and passenger transport,” he explained.
Rizki explained that the transport quota is limited to 850 motorbikes per day. Registration runs from 1–29 March 2026, while the departure schedule runs from 13–29 March 2026. “For the transport quota it is limited per day. With a travel quota of 850 motorcycles per day,” he said.
Overall, this year’s Motis quota is significantly higher than last year. “This year’s quota is far higher — around 19,900 motorcycles and about 21,000 passengers, if I’m not mistaken,” he said.
At Bekasi Station specifically, to date the team has served around 700–800 registrants.
The high public interest has also affected the online registration system. Rizki acknowledged that the server is frequently difficult to access due to the large number of users logging in simultaneously. “When done online, the server is indeed limited. It makes it hard to log in,” he said.
For travellers who opt for offline registration, they must take a queue number before being called to the administrative desk.
