Jakarta — Deputy Indonesian National Police Commander Komjen Pol. Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo stated that 75,000 vehicles traversed the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on the first day of the 2026 Lebaran exodus.

This represented a 15 percent increase compared to the first day of the 2025 Lebaran exodus, which saw approximately 66,000 vehicles.

“The first day evaluation showed a 15 percent increase compared to the same day in 2025. This means that last year we had approximately 66,000 vehicles passing through the toll road up to kilometre 57. This year, we are already at 75,000,” Dedi told reporters at the KM 57 rest area on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on Saturday.

Despite the increased vehicle volume, he assured that traffic flow remained smooth and well-monitored.

“From our monitoring, overall traffic conditions could be described as quite smooth, despite the visible increase in volume,” Dedi said.

Previously, based on aerial monitoring, the Deputy Commander stated that outbound traffic from Jakarta on the second day of Operation Ketupat 2026 was flowing smoothly.

“Overall, from my aerial observation, traffic leaving Jakarta is flowing very smoothly, and although there has been an increase, it remains in the very smooth category,” Dedi said when encountered at the KM 29 Command Centre in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday.

Beyond traffic, he noted that the security and public order situation was also conducive.

“Overall, the security and public order situation is very conducive. Although traffic volume has increased, everything remains manageable and well-controlled,” Dedi said.

He revealed that monitoring across several toll road sections extending to Cikampek, Cirebon, the Central Java border at Kalikangkung toll, and the East Java exit at Ngawi showed very smooth traffic conditions.

“The toll road towards Merak is also in very good condition. At Merak and the Cilegon exit, measures are being taken to redirect traffic, particularly three-axle vehicles, away from the toll road onto arterial routes,” Dedi added.

Operation Ketupat 2026 runs for 13 days, from 13 March to 25 March 2026, involving 161,243 combined personnel.

The National Police established 2,746 checkpoints comprising 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts serving as information and service centres for travellers.

Security operations focused on protecting 185,607 locations including mosques, Eid prayer locations, tourist attractions, shopping centres, terminals, seaports, railway stations, and airports.
